The 1.6 ECOboost basically replaced the old 2.0 Duratec. However despite the new technology it is still an old engine. The original Sigma engine was introduced in 1995 when fuel economy was not that important. Because of the old design the 1.6 ECOboost is not the most fuel efficient engine.

The 1.0 ECOboost has a multistage cooling system with 2 thermostats. It is not uncommon for one of the thermostats to fail on a 1.0 ECOboost. Posted September 5, 2010. i do not see how a clutch depressed can affect a turbo, it sound like you have two problems, the noisy clutch is most likly the release bearing on its way out, if the turbo is not working it could be many things like split intercooler pipe,clogged egr,accuator problem, boost problem or the turbo itself,without WKbfw.
